Wilds of Oldham made their exhibition debut at the Restaurant & Bar show with great success on 12th April 2010. Our stand was very busy for the whole two days and was manned by our sales team with extra expertise being offered by Black Sheep Brewery, Estrella Damm and our wine suppliers, GCF. Visitors were given excellent hospitality and we are now busy making all the follow up calls.
Wilds will be launching their new wine brochure for 2010 at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show on Monday 12th April.
The list covers all the main wine producing areas of the world, and from entry level house wines, right up to the quality wines expected in the best restaurants and hotels.
It is available for download on this website – it is a large file and may take a few minutes !!
Three Account Managers and eight office based sales staff have passed their Wines & Spirits Educational Trust, Level 1 Certificate in Wines. The course was held over a two day period in our training room at Arkwright Street and all 11 passed. This means that all the sales staff have a basic understanding of wines and are in a position to offer advice and guidance to our customers. Four staff, namely Karen Molloy, Mark Law and Ged O’Rourke (all account managers) and Ann Wild (Office Manager) are going on to do the Level 2 – Intermediate Course starting in Febuary 2010.
After deciding it was too dangerous to attempt any deliveries on Tuesday 5th Jan, the service was back to normal on Wednesday 6th Jan. Side roads and car parking areas remain difficult but the employees at Wilds have gone about their business and made important deliveries for our customers. (06/1/10)
JULY 2009 : New Depot
Wilds of Oldham eventually moved into their new premises on Arkwright Street, giving us double the amount of storage storage space. We have taken the decision not to offer a “cash & carry” facility but instead there is large reception area where customers can discuss their requirements, then sit down and have a drink whilst we pick the order.
