On Wednesday 24th June, Vikki Jolley was on the local radio competing in the Battle of the Workplace, a minute long quiz, and with the help of the rest of the office, managed to score 10 correct answers. This turned out to be the highest of the week – and so the team are off “Go-Karting” at Rochdale soon. We got some good publicity out of it – regular name mentions throughout the day
6/1/15 – We were given superb hospitality at Moorhouses Brewery today, where a fact finding visit was attended by our Account Managers and some of the office based sales staff. We were shown round their superb, modern brewery by Dan Casaru, the Head Brewer (in fact a Master Brewer), who explained their brewing process in a clear and understandable manner. After a bit of lunch, we then went into their working cellar to go through everything that our customers need to do in the handling of cask ale – a valuable process as they now understand “tapping and venting” and are able to offer help to customers with problems.
Our thanks go to David Grant (MD), Mark Boardman (Nat Acc Controller), Stuart Thompson (Commercial Mg), Dan Casaru (Head Brewer) and Stacie Kerrison (Hospitality) for an excellent day – “the perfect spell”!!
Anyone interested in stocking Moorhouses superb range of beers – please get in touch.
A fantastic turnout of staff went to the P4U Arena to watch John Bishop – tickets were a reward from Heineken for some great work during the year. The day started well – in the Printworks for a few “looseners”, watching England win the football. Over to the Arena for the opening night of the “Plus 1” facility. The food was superb, and the beer continued to flow. JB was in top form and everyone left having had a great night out. For some it continued in Manchester until the early hours. Everyone was in work on time the day after – some a little groggy, but a company sponsored McD’s breakfast soon lifted even the worst hangovers. Thanks to Heineken again, and the team at the Plus 1 facility in the Arena – brilliant.
April 2014 – Wilds were awarded the “2013 – Wholesaler of the year – Best of the Best” at a recent ABInbev Awards Ceremony
Wilds were crowned “Best of the Best” within the UK wholesale market.
ABInbev supply brands like:- Budweiser, Stella Artois, Becks, Becks Vier, Boddingtons and Trophy, and are the biggest brewery in the world.
Up against Wilds for the award, were all the wholesale companies in the UK, including National operators and independently owned businesses, large and small. Each company is “scored” on several different factors including things like, volume, installations, telesales activities, logistics, financials.
The ceremony was attended by Steven and Andrew Wild, their wives, Sarah and Annie who both work in the business, and the three road based account mangers, Karen Molloy, Mark Law and Ged O’Rourke.
“It was a magical night. To receive the award was something we could only have dreamed of a few years ago, and it was special to be able to celebrate it with the team members present – I only wish we could have closed the business for the day and the whole workforce could have come down” said a delighted Steven Wild.
“Winning was good enough, but as a prize we also get and all expenses paid trip to the FIFA World Cup in Brasil to watch England play Uruguay – how good is that !!!! I have to say a massive thank you to all our customers who have helped us to build our ABInbev brands. I just hope we continue to give them the excellent service they deserve” added Andrew Wild
The trophy was presented by Steph McGovern (BBC Breakfast, Business News Presenter)

We’re “Wild….about wines”
Wilds of Oldham have become a local agent for Chapel Down’s Curious Brew – voted the best lager in the world under 5% at the London 2012 International Beer Challenge.
The story behind the beer is fascinating and the quality is exceptional. Chapel Down was formed to make English Sparkling Wine and has gained many awards over the last few years (we also stock this!!)Using the same yeast that is used to make the quality wines, the Curious Brew is less gassy, cleaner and easier drinking than other beers.
It is available in keg or bottle format and has two other beers in its’ stable – “Curious Porter” and “Curious IPA”

Wilds of Oldham won this award for 2011 also, and so this represents a massive “prolonged” effort by the whole team.
It is awarded for achieving 100% full container deliveries. There were a number of companies that achieved this rate, but the winner (us!!) was decided by taking into account other factors – largest growth in business; the number of installs achieved etc.
Wilds of Oldham – one of only five companies awarded “Gold” accreditation by the worls biggest brewer – ABInbev.
